We’ll kick things off at our cozy shop on Calle La Fortaleza, one of the most famous and photogenic streets in Old San Juan. We’ll share a few secret spots only locals know about, give you the lowdown on the day, and then let the fun begin.
First stop: a family-owned rum shop that’s been perfecting their craft for generations. Their “Ron Añejo” is so good, we’re convinced it should have its own national holiday. You’ll taste several varieties while we swap stories about San Juan’s colorful history and culture.
Next up: cigars. At the same location, we will begin the cigar tasting experience. There we will learn to detect their quality and sample some local varieties
Finally, as our last stop, just a short walk away, we’ll step into an artisanal espadrille shop, where you’ll learn about the most traditional shoe from Spanish colonial times. You’ll try them on, find your perfect pair (yep, it’s included in the price), and before you know it, the shop will turn into a mini fiesta, with music, drinks, and plenty of laughs.
We will have around 3 hours of tour, during which we will taste traditional drinks, try quality cigars and get a pair of espadrilles, all within the price.
Every stop on this experience is within walking distance. We also keep our groups small—never more than eight people—for a more personal and enjoyable experience.
We recommend this experience as the ideal first step into the city’s vibrant culture. Along the way, we’ll share local tips and personal recommendations to help you savor every moment of your time on the island.
Bring your best smile and your interesting stories to share. It will be super local, and very authentic!
