Your tour guide will meet you at the Start of The River Walk Mall in San Antonio, Texas, located at 849 E Commerce St, and then we will start our guided portion at the Torch of Friendship - a 65 ft tall sculpture weighing 45 tons. The Torch of Friendship was gifted to San Antonio by the Mexican government in 2002 and symbolizes the shared culture and cooperation between Mexico and San Antonio. From there, we will make our way along the Riverwalk to our first food stop, where you will enjoy a delicious Tortilla Soup made of traditional broth with tomato, chile Guajillo, and epazote.

Next, we will head back toward the Riverwalk passing by La Villita, San Antonio’s first neighborhood, which was once beautiful farmland south of the Alamo. In 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt requested that the area be restored, and the city council dedicated the project to “the promotion of peace, friendship and justice between the United States of America and all other nations in the Western Hemisphere.” During this time, we will also pass by the Historic Village, Venue Villita, Presa Street Bridge, the Mexican Consulate, and the Tower Life Building.
