What you can expect

Drive through the Austrian countryside from Vienna to alluring Salzburg. This beautiful baroque city has long been synonymous with museums, music, and of course, Mozart. Enjoy a full-day tour of the UNESCO-listed center and see all the major landmarks, including Mozart's actual birthplace.

Drive past towering mountains and mirror-like lakes on your journey to Salzburg. Upon arrival, you have some free time to wander around and find a traditional café or a restaurant for lunch. Then head off on an afternoon stroll through the old city to view the magnificent cathedral, the Festival Hall, and the tomb of Mozart's sister at St. Peter's Abbey.

Stroll down the Getreidegasse to visit the birthplace of Mozart before passing through the gardens of Mirabell Palace, famous as the filming location for “The Sound of Music” (the gardens are where Maria and the Von Trapp children sang “Do-Re-Mi”). From this vantage point, you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the imposing Hohensalzburg Fortress, one of Europe’s largest castles.
