What you can expect

  • Sal Island Tour – Discover the best of Sal. Your adventure begins with pickup at your hotel reception at 9:15 AM, followed by a journey to our first destination, Ponta Preta (Black Point).
Here, you'll admire the striking contrast between white natural sand dunes and dark volcanic rocks extending into the sea. This unique combination creates impressive waves, making Ponta Preta a world-famous destination for water sports competitions, including surfing and windsurfing. During your visit to Ponta Preta, your guide will introduce you to the itinerary and share a brief history of Cape Verde.
Next, we will head to Murdeira, located in the central part of the island, where you can enjoy views of Monte Leão, one of Sal's most iconic natural landmarks.
From Murdeira, we will continue north to Espargos, the island's capital, where we will explore the town and finish with a stop at a panoramic viewpoint, offering spectacular views of the surrounding area. Our next stop will be Palmeira, a traditional fishing village and the island's main port. This important industrial and commercial area plays a vital role in the local economy.
East of Palmeira, we will visit Buracona, a remarkable natural attraction known for its natural pools and extraordinary volcanic rock formations. This is where you can witness a fascinating natural phenomenon known as the Blue Eye.
Between 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM, sunlight enters a cave about 25 metres deep, creating a spectacular reflection that looks like a glowing blue eye staring up at the sky. Further west, we will visit Terra Boa, an area known for its agricultural land and desert landscapes. Here, you will have the opportunity to witness another fascinating natural phenomenon:
a mirage that creates the illusion of water in the middle of the desert.
On our way back towards Espargos, we will pass through some of the island's outlying neighbourhoods and visit social institutions, such as kindergartens and schools, offering you a glimpse into local community life. In Espargos, we will take a lunch break at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy a traditional Cape Verdean dish or savour one of the town's best pizzas.
After lunch, our adventure continues to Baía da Parda (Shark Bay), where you may have the opportunity to observe lemon sharks in their natural habitat.
To conclude the tour, we will visit Pedra de Lume, home to the famous salt flats located inside the crater of an extinct volcano. Here, you can enjoy a unique floating experience in the highly saline waters, traditionally associated with relaxation and well-being.
After a memorable day filled with breathtaking landscapes, culture, nature and unforgettable experiences, we will return you to your hotel at approximately 4:00 PM. Join us and discover the very best of Sal Island, where natural beauty, local culture and adventure come together for an unforgettable experience.
