Starting from Casperia, a “bulbous” village of rare architectural beauty, you will explore narrow alleys and stairways that climb through panoramic squares and picturesque views until you reach the Church of San Giovanni Battista. Once outside the village walls, you get on your e-bikes and easily follow the routes that connect the historic fountains, ancient examples of rural architecture carved into or resting on the rock. These structures, such as the Fontanile di Paranzano or those immersed in the Mediterranean vegetation, represent the ancestral link between local communities and the water that flows from the bowels of the mountain. Cycling between gray limestone walls and holm oak forests, you can feel the power of a land where man has been able to shape the stone to channel water resources, creating oases of coolness among the hilly pastures. The loop route offers glimpses of natural caves and small rocky ravines that mark the boundary between the fortified village and nature. The re-entry to the rugged walls of Casperia concludes a journey during which water and rock tell a story of centuries-old resilience.
