Q: What is included?
A: Full-day tour from Rovaniemi with transport, guide, Korouoma hike, Auttiköngäs historic site, BBQ and hot drinks.
Q: How long is the tour?
A: About 8 hours, depending on weather, roads and group pace.
Q: How difficult is the hike?
A: Easy to Moderate, with uneven trails, hills and rocks. Suitable footwear and fitness are recommended.
Q: Are the waterfalls frozen?
A: In summer and early autumn they normally flow. Frozen waterfalls are a winter feature.
Q: What is Auttiköngäs?
A: It is a scenic waterfall, canyon and historic logging area. The preserved log-floating structures show how timber was once transported through the Lapland.
Q: Do we hike the full Auttiköngäs Nature Trail?
A: This tour focuses on visiting the Auttiköngäs waterfall and historic area rather than completing the full 3.6 km nature trail. If time, weather and fitness allow, we may visit the 360° observation tower (1.4 km round trip).
Q: Can we see Arctic wildlife?
A: Wildlife may occasionally be seen during the scenic drive or hike. Reindeer, Moose, birds and other Arctic wildlife are possible, but sightings are completely natural and cannot be guaranteed.
Q: Suitable for children?
A: Not for children under 4.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy walking shoes. Conditions can change quickly in Lapland, so a waterproof or wind-resistant outer layer is recommended. A mosquito net hat will be provided when needed.
