The archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo is one of the most impressive sites in the Sacred Valley, both for its architecture and its historical importance. Built on monumental terraces ascending a mountainside, it was a strategic ceremonial, military and administrative center for the Incas. From the top, you get spectacular views of the village and the valley, as you tour the Temple of the Sun, ceremonial fountains and cyclopean walls. In addition to its architectural value, Ollantaytambo was the scene of one of the few battles in which the Incas successfully resisted the Spanish troops, and its original urban layout remains intact in the current village, connecting the past and the present in an environment of great natural beauty.

In addition to the main routes, Machu Picchu has alternative routes that allow you to explore the sanctuary from other angles. Hikes like the one to Intipunku connect with the ancient Inca Trail, while access to the Inca Bridge reveals the ingenuity of the ancient builders. Routes through the upper or lower terraces allow you to appreciate the citadel without the need for large ascents. Options like the Grand Cavern and Huchuy Picchu invite you to discover quieter spaces, with different views or little visited ceremonial sites. They are ideal routes for those who prefer a short walk or a more serene experience inside the sanctuary.

The route to the Mountain of Seven Colors begins in Cusipata, a small town located about 2 hours by car from Cusco. From there, you start the walk to Vinicunca, known for its stunning natural colors. The hike has a distance of approximately 7 km, and is estimated to take 2 to 3 hours of moderate climbing. The trail runs through beautiful Andean landscapes, with spectacular views of mountains and valleys. Due to the altitude (approximately 5,200 meters above sea level), it is recommended to be acclimatised to enjoy the experience safely.
