The highlight is a visit to Te Puia, home to the NZ Māori Arts and Crafts Institute and the world-renowned Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley. Following is a guided exploration of Te Puia, including the national carving school, where master craftsmen preserve the art of traditional Māori wood carving.
