What you can expect
Just two hours north of Madrid lies one of Spain’s most serious wine regions: Ribera del Duero.
Famous for powerful, structured reds made primarily from Tempranillo (locally called Tinto Fino), Ribera is a land of extremes — scorching summers, freezing winters, high-altitude vineyards and old vines that struggle beautifully in limestone and clay soils.
This full-day Ribera del Duero wine tour from Madrid introduces you to the region through three carefully selected wineries, each chosen to show a different face of Ribera, which could include:
A small, family-owned project with hands-on winemaking
A contemporary winery pushing precision and innovation
A more historic or established estate that reflects Ribera’s classic style
No two visits feel the same — because Ribera isn’t one thing.
Between tastings, we stop in a traditional village for a proper Castilian lunch: slow-roasted lechazo (suckling lamb) cooked in a wood-fired oven at a local asador. It’s simple, regional and exactly what belongs on the table in Ribera. (If you prefer something lighter or different, alternative options are always available.)
This is not a rushed tasting circuit. It’s a deep introduction to Ribera del Duero — its landscape, its culture, and its wines — guided by a sommelier who understands both the technical side and the story behind the glass.
Our tours are intimate mixing a total of 8 people from a total of 2 groups, meaning hotel pickup and drop-off is convenient.
