Escape the ordinary on this unforgettable 3-day, 2-night adventure from Lombok to Saleh Bay, Sumbawa. This experience combines the beauty of Kenawa Island, the thrill of swimming with wild whale sharks, island camping, traditional fishing, spearfishing, a hands-on local cooking class, and fresh seafood for an authentic Indonesian island adventure.
Your journey begins with hotel pickup from Senggigi, Mataram, or Bangsal Harbor. Enjoy a comfortable 2-hour drive to Kayangan Harbor, followed by a 2-hour ferry crossing to Sumbawa. Continue by road before boarding a local boat for a scenic 20-minute ride to the beautiful Kenawa Island.
Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at a local beachfront restaurant. Afterwards, spend around one hour snorkeling in the island's crystal-clear waters, swimming among colorful tropical fish, or simply relaxing on the white sandy beach while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
After exploring Kenawa Island, continue to Labuan Jambu, where you'll check in to a comfortable hotel and rest before the next morning's adventure.
At around 4:00 AM, you'll be transferred to the harbor to board a shared traditional wooden boat to the local fishing platforms (bagang) in Saleh Bay, where wild whale sharks are frequently spotted. Snorkel alongside these gentle giants in their natural habitat while enjoying a spectacular sunrise over the bay—an unforgettable marine wildlife encounter.
After swimming with the whale sharks, continue to a small island in Saleh Bay, where your beach campsite awaits. Enjoy a traditional local lunch before joining a hands-on cooking class, where you'll learn how to prepare authentic Indonesian dishes using fresh ingredients and seafood supplied by local fishermen. Afterwards, relax and soak up the peaceful island atmosphere.
In the late afternoon, take part in a traditional fishing or spearfishing experience and catch fresh fish that will be prepared for your dinner. As the sun sets, gather around a beach campfire and enjoy a freshly grilled seafood BBQ beneath a sky full of stars, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
On the final morning, enjoy breakfast by the beach before leaving the island. At around 9:00 AM, transfer back to your waiting vehicle and begin your return journey to Lombok by road and ferry.
This tour is the perfect combination of adventure, tropical islands, authentic local culture, and unforgettable marine wildlife encounters. It is ideal for nature lovers, photographers, ocean enthusiasts, and adventurous travelers looking to experience one of Indonesia's most unique and memorable destinations.
