The path of the sentinels Your journey begins in the company of Luis or Andrea, local leaders whose lives are intertwined with the defense of this sanctuary. Together with our trilingual team, you'll venture into ancient trails where the high Andean forest reveals its secrets: wild orchids, tree ferns, and mosses that keep the earth's moisture. As we ascend, the vegetation shrinks to give way to the real stars: the Frailejones (Espeletia spp.). These ancient plants, which grow just one centimeter a year, will surround you in the imposing Valley of the Frailejones, creating a scene that seems frozen in time.
