What you can expect

  • Day 1
    Departure from Quito from the selected pickup point.
    Breakfast stop at the entrance of the Cotopaxi National Park.
    Hike around the Limpiopungo lagoon, inside Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the highest active volcanoes in the world.
    Lunch stop at a local restaurant run by a Kichwa family.
    Guided visit in Quilotoa. Explore the 3 km wide volcanic lake with turquoise waters.
    Stop to taste the famous Ecuadorian ice cream on the way to Baños.
    Arrival in Baños, home to smoking volcanoes, majestic waterfalls, and natural hot springs. Disembark at Parque de la Basílica.

    Day 2
    Free day in the city of Baños, or you can add a full-day tour to the Amazon for an additional fee.

    Day 3
    Free day in the city of Baños, or you can add a full-day tour of the Chimborazo volcano for an additional cost.

    Day 4
    Departure from Baños to the heart of the nation, Riobamba.
    Visit the traditional market of Guamote, one of the largest and most colorful markets in the country, to learn about the different products sold by the Kichwa people.

    Enjoy a lunch prepared by the inhabitants of an indigenous community living inside the Sangay National Park, located 12,500 feet above sea level.

    Hike through the hills of Ozogoche, exploring an area with more than 45 lagoons and observing the fauna of the moorlands in breathtaking scenery.

    Disembark in the village of Alausí.

    Day 5
    Meet at the train station.
    Enjoy the adventure of the world's most difficult train route, the Devil's Nose Train.
    Enjoy a traditional local lunch.
    Visit to the Cañari-Inca ruins of Ingapirca for a tour of this archaeological site.
    Before arriving in Cuenca, visit the Turi vantage point, where you can enjoy an incredible view of the city.
    Arrival in Cuenca and disembarkation at Parque Calderón.

    Day 6
    Free day in the city of Cuenca, or you can add a full-day tour to Gualaceo and Chordeleg for an additional fee.

    Day 7
    Pick-up in Cuenca at Parque Calderón.
    Stop for breakfast and enjoy the local cuisine.
    Guided visit to El Cajas National Park for an adventure among lagoons, hikes along ancient trails, and high-mountain landscapes.
    Once on the Pacific coast and in the warmer climate, stop at a cocoa hacienda to learn all about chocolate, from the flowering of the tree to the final artisanal production process.

    Enjoy a delicious lunch at the cocoa hacienda, introducing your palate to the local cuisine of the coast.

    Arrival in Guayaquil and end of services.
