Discover analogue photography in a hands-on 3-hour darkroom workshop in Arthur’s Point, just outside central Queenstown.

Your experience begins with a practical introduction to using a 35mm film camera. With guidance from your instructor, you’ll learn the basics of exposure and composition before heading out together to photograph your roll of black-and-white film in the surrounding area.

Back in the darkroom, you’ll develop your film by hand using traditional chemical processes. You’ll be guided step-by-step through loading reels, processing negatives, and understanding how your images are formed.

Once your film is developed, you’ll create a printed contact sheet of your photographs to take home as a physical souvenir of your time in Queenstown.

This workshop is designed for beginners and requires no prior photography experience. All equipment, film, and materials are provided. Group sizes are limited to a maximum of four participants to ensure individual support throughout the session.
