What you can expect

The goal of this course is to give you tips on how to survive in the wild.
You'll be faced with a situation where survival becomes a priority.
Imagine: you go on a day hike, you find yourself forced to spend a night in the mountains, with rudimentary personal equipment and a survival kit.
The goal isn't to stress you out, just to give you the keys that, maybe one day, will save your life.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • Know the mountain environment

  • Introduction to orientation (Map/compass)

  • Knowing edible plants

  • Making a game trap

  • Building a shelter that's right for the conditions

  • Making a fire

  • Optimizing wood-fire cooking techniques

WHAT TO EXPECT:

DAY 1

9:00 a.m.: meet at the parking lot

10:00 am: Departure to the bivouac site off the marked trail, walking techniques with sticks, reading the landscape, and basic orientation with a map and compass. Discover edible and medicinal plants.

No picnic on the agenda, the idea is to eat what nature offers us (plants and insects).

2:00 pm: Arrival, orientation, and introduction to the bag and survival kit (provided). Setting up shelters without specific equipment, knots, and learning different techniques for lighting a fire safely. Find something to eat and drink.

7:00 pm: Free aperitif

8:00 pm: Trapper meal cooked over a wood fire (provided)

9:30 pm: Stories, anecdotes, exchanges…

10:30 p.m.: Time to hit the hay

DAY 2

8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.: Wake up and breakfast (provided)

9:30 a.m.: Camp dismantling

10:00 a.m.: Various workshops
