Explore one of Puno's wonders with a trip to the Uros and Taquile Islands on Lake Titicaca. Explore the lake's floating islands and learn more about the lives of the people who live on the islands of the world's highest lake.

This day begins with pickup from your hotel in downtown Puno. We'll then head to the Port of Puno, where we'll board a boat. After a 30-minute drive, we'll arrive at Uros Island, an ancestral village with Aymara roots. These people live on artificial floating islands made from totora reeds, an aquatic plant that surrounds much of the island.

The inhabitants of the Uros Floating Islands will show us how they were able to adapt to the Peruvian highlands despite the harsh climate. The Uros have inhabited these artificial islands for hundreds of years, during which time birdwatching, egg collecting, and fishing were their main activities. Today, tourism is their main activity, and for this reason, they offer experiences and show the world how they developed and continue their life on Lake Titicaca.

After visiting the Uros Island, we will continue our tour on Lake Titicaca. After a two-hour boat ride, we will reach Taquile Island, one of the largest islands in Lake Titicaca.

Taquile is one of the most important islands in Lake Titicaca because it is home to people who still preserve customs and traditions from the Inca era. Many visitors indicate that Taquile has a vibrant culture. The people who live on this island still wear their colonial-era clothing, particularly the weaving done by the island's men. Here, we will have lunch.

After this visit we will board the boat that will take us back to the city of Puno, our transport will drop you off at your hotel in Puno
