What you can expect

Sillustani is an unmissable spot on any visit to Puno. This place is recognized for being an old funerary complex with imposing tubular buildings that measure up to twelve meters high, known as the Chullpas . These buildings are evidence of Kolla culture, which settled on the peninsula above Lake Umayo, a place that not only offers a quiet environment but is surrounded by an unbeatable view. Later, we will head to the Atuncolla district to meet local alpaca herding families who will share some dishes that showcase the best of their cuisine. After tasting its diversity of potatoes, fresh cheese, and chaco, we will visit the community to learn more about its customs, crafts, natural medicine, and all the richness of its Andean origins. Before saying goodbye, we will share with them a lunch made in huatias earth ovens used by the community.
