Experience the adventure of touring the Valdés Peninsula with us, one of the most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries in the world, on this excursion designed for nature and photography lovers.
ABOUT THE SIGHTSEEING TOUR
Your adventure begins with pickup from your accommodation in Puerto Madryn. After a short tour of the city to learn about its history, we'll head to the Valdés Peninsula. Our first stop is the “Istmo Carlos Ameghino” Visitor Center, where you'll get views of the typical Patagonian landscape and the Gulfs Nuevo and San Jose, home to impressive wildlife.
We'll continue to the picturesque little town of Puerto Piramides, where we'll make our second stop. From June to December, you'll have the optional opportunity to join a 1.5-hour cruise to get up close to the majestic southern right whale (NOT included in the price; contact us to book). During the summer and fall season, we'll enjoy free time to explore the beach and the local charm.
We'll continue our journey to Caleta Valdés and Punta Cantor. Here, the trails and vantage points will allow you to observe colonies of elephant seals and sea lions. If you visit us between September and April, you'll marvel at the friendly Magellanic Penguins. Between October and November, keep your eyes on the sea, as this is the season when killer whales usually patrol these shores in groups.
During the summer and autumn season (December to May), we will visit Punta Norte. This is the world-famous setting where, in March and April, orcas perform “intentional stranding,” a hunting technique unique in the world.
On the journey along the gravel roads, the safari continues on land: keep an eye out for guanacos, choiques, maras, and martinetas crossing the Patagonian landscape.
After a day filled with nature at its purest, we'll return to Puerto Madryn to drop you off at your accommodation.
