Imagine starting your adventure at Manialtepec Lagoon, located about 25 minutes from Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. The calm water reflects the sky, and green mangroves stretch out around you, seemingly embracing the lagoon. You climb into the kayak, feeling the gentle rocking beneath your feet, and begin to paddle slowly.

It's early in the morning, and mist is slowly rising from the water. As you paddle along, the sounds of civilization fade away and are replaced by birdsong and the occasional splash of a fish.
