This is your chance to step onto the legendary ice of the Perito Moreno Glacier. This is an intensive “Pro” experience for the active traveler.

Your adventure begins based on the option you select: either with a pickup from your hotel in El Calafate, or by making your own way directly to the “Bajo de las Sombras” Port. Once at the port, you embark on a 20-minute navigation across Lake Rico, gliding past the massive, jagged southern wall of the glacier—keep your camera ready.

After disembarking, your certified bilingual mountain guides greet you. You first begin a 1-hour hike through a pristine forest path, warming up as you walk toward the glacier's edge. At the base, your guides fit you with a helmet and crampons and give you a full safety briefing.

Then, you take your first step onto the ice. You now spend one full hour on an intensive trek across a landscape from another world. You follow your expert guide through a maze of deep blue crevasses, past serene frozen lagoons, and around towering ice spires called seracs. You learn about the glacier's unique ecosystem as you feel the crunch of the ice under your feet.

To celebrate your achievement, you finish with a special toast—whiskey served with ice from the glacier itself. Your hike back includes a stop at the stunning Las Cotorras Waterfall and a final panoramic viewpoint.
