Begin your day with a convenient hotel pickup from your Cancun or Riviera Maya hotel. Then, head to Ek Balam, translated from Mayan as “black jaguar”, where you see the mysterious sculpture angels who guard the entrance to the kingdom of the dead in the form of a rattlesnake mouth. From the Preclassic until the Postclassic period, it was the seat of a Mayan kingdom. The site is noted for the preservation of the plaster on the tomb of Ukit-Kan-Lek-Tok, a king buried in the side of the largest pyramid.

Next, visit the New 7th Wonder of the World, one of the last cities of mysteriously vanished Maya civilization—the famous Chichen Itza. Here you see the Pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Warriors, the Temple of the Jaguars, and the Observatory.

Later on, you swim in a beautiful cenote with crystal clear water, surrounded by exotic plants and magical singing of wild birds. A cenote a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath and they are found commonly in this area.

The culmination of the tour is a visit to a tequila producer where you can see the tequila production process and taste this throat-burning drink. Then relax as you are transported back to your hotel.
