The Pearl of the Avila Romanesque (National Monument). Towards the beginning of the s. Considered the first Gothic cathedral built in Spain. Its tall and solitary tower stands out, which reveals the double function of this great temple. The Church of Santa Teresa is part of the convent of the Carmelite monks that is located in the same square. They were the ones who decided in the 17th century to build this convent in the same place where the old family home of the Cepeda and Ahumada parents of La Santa stood.
