Waikiki Beach is the birth place of today’s Surfing! Waikiki Beach is the Honolulu's world-famous beach and has some of the world's longest and most gentle waves—the perfect conditions for learning to surf. Taught by experienced instructors, you learn the art of spotting, paddling, standing, and ultimately, riding the waves. Ehe'enalukakou—let's surf!

Your adventure begins with a 15- to 20-minute land lesson with an instructor walking you through safety information, surf etiquette, and fundamentals. Learn how to handle your surfboard, how and when to stand, and how to return to the prone position after riding a wave.

Once you feel comfortable diving into the warm water, you and your group paddle away from shore to find the perfect location—where the sets are about to break. Watch your instructor tackle a wave and gracefully maneuver the board over the water. Then feel the satisfaction of catching your first wave and riding it toward shore.

After an hour of practicing with an expert instructor, you understand why surfing is a way of life on Oahu for everyone—from keikis (kids) to grown adults.
