The icon of Langkawi, Eagle Square or locally known as Dataran Lang is the home for Langkawi’s giant statue of an eagle which according to old folklore where Langkawi get its name from : The two Malay words – ‘helang’ (eagle) and ‘kawi’ (reddish brown): hence lang-kawi. Perched 12 meters above the star shaped concrete deck overlooking the Kuah Jetty, the eagle is always a welcoming icon for every traveller coming into Langkawi. Durian Perangin Waterfall

Durian Perangin waterfall is situated on the north eastern part of Langkawi and doesn’t smell or taste like Durian at all. The name is a result of the tall durian trees that grow in the forests near the waterfall. Durian Perangin is a multi-tiered waterfall and each cascade makes a freshwater pool at its base.
