We will venture into Old Managua, where our first stop will be Tiscapa Hill. Here, we will delve into the site’s revolutionary history, including its underground prisons, and learn about its role in Nicaragua’s past. Visitors will also enjoy the stunning panoramic views of Tiscapa Lagoon and hear captivating legends passed down through generations by local elders. Delving deeper into the heart of Old Managua, our next destination will be the Old Cathedral of Managua (Catedral de Santiago), where we will explore the awe-inspiring structure that survived the devastating earthquake that destroyed much of the city. This site, now one of the most iconic tourist areas in Managua, offers a poignant glimpse into the city’s past. We will proceed to Xolotlán Avenue, located alongside Lake Managua, where we will observe a scale model of Old Managua.
