We start with a walking tour through the historic center. First, you’ll take in the grand architecture of Avenida dos Aliados, then gaze up at the majestic Clérigos Tower. You’ll also discover unique sights like the beautifully decorated McDonald’s, considered one of the most stunning in the world.
We’ll continue to São Bento Train Station, where our guide will share the station’s fascinating history and its famous tile panels depicting key moments in Portuguese culture and history. From there, we walk up to the Cathedral of Sé, one of Porto’s oldest monuments. Here, we’ll take a short break to enjoy the views and explore the history of this landmark (external visit only). Next, we head toward the Fernandina Wall to admire panoramic views over the city.
From the cathedral, we’ll reach Batalha Square, where we’ll board our comfortable bus.
The tour continues to Vila Nova de Gaia for a visit to a traditional Port wine cellar. Here, you’ll learn about the production process of Port wine, followed by a tasting of three varieties.
We conclude our half-day tour back in the city center of Porto, at the same location where the bus boarding began in the morning.
