Discover real agricultural life in Madeira on a guided walking tour through banana plantations and family farms. You will be accompanied by Angela and Stef, passionate French botanical guides who live in this hamlet. With them, you will explore the terraced plantations where banana trees, sugarcane, and many tropical species grow.

You will learn how Madeiran bananas are grown, how they ripen, and how the local people use the levadas to irrigate their plots. This walk will take you to the heart of the village, where you will pass through sugarcane plantations and discover a wide variety of tropical fruit trees: mangoes, custard apples, passion fruit, papayas, and more. It will be an opportunity to learn about the amazing diversity of these crops and their unique characteristics.

Along the way, your guides will provide clear, easy-to-understand explanations about local farming methods, the history of the village, and how the locals live in harmony with these terraced landscapes.

The tour concludes at Angela and Stef's home, on a terrace offering a magnificent view of the sea and the mountains. There, you will enjoy a homemade tropical fruit juice, a convivial moment to round off this immersive experience of Madeira’s rural soul.
