What you can expect

Begin your adventure in Naples, where our tour departs year-round. First, discover the haunting ruins of Pompeii, a Roman city frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.

After Pompeii, ascend Mount Vesuvius and savor a delicious meal at a local restaurant with panoramic views of the volcano. You can indulge in an Italian light lunch or partake in a wine tasting featuring authentic local cuisine. Next, follow our driver to an elevation of 1000 meters, and from there, you'll trek to the volcano's summit to witness the awe-inspiring crater. At the peak, a professional National Park guide will provide insights, or you can explore the crater on your own. Marvel at Mount Somma (1133 meters) to the left and Vesuvius' cone (1281 meters) to the right, separated by the striking Valley of the Giant. Mount Vesuvius is both majestic and captivating – a must-visit destination!

The itinerary within the Pompeii excavations may vary from day to day
depending on the opening of certain offices and the influx of visitors. The visit guarantees the exploration of one building from each category: 1 Temple, 1 Market, 1 ancient shop, 1 Villa, 1 Thermal bath, 1 Theater, and the Forum. The selection of visited buildings is determined each time by the guide based on the number of visitors, waiting times, and their opening hours.

The tour includes a visit to a Cameo factory. Cameos are typical jewels from the Roman era, discovered during the excavations of Herculaneum and Pompeii in 1748. At the factory, you can observe a craftsman at work. Cameos are jewels crafted from shells and gemstones, and they are hand-carved by the artisan. Visiting the factory will allow you to use the restrooms for free before entering the excavations. Therefore, stopping at the Cameo factory is not only informative but also essential in terms of managing the visit to the Pompeii excavations.

The tour in the chosen language is considered confirmed with a minimum of 6 participants. If the minimum number is not reached, there will be the option to choose either an audio-guided tour in the selected language or a guided tour in English.

Participants should be comfortable walking on natural, unpaved trails with elevation changes.
