What you can expect
The Khopra, Khayer Lake and Hotspring Trek is a popular trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal. The trek is about 9 days long and takes you through picturesque landscapes, traditional villages, and stunning mountain views.
Day 1: Pokhara to Nayapul to Ghandruk (1940m)
Take a jeep ride from Pokhara to Nayapul, and then trek to Ghandruk. The trail passes through several small villages and terraced fields. Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village with traditional houses and a great view of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli.
Day 2: Ghandruk to Tadapani (2700m)
The trail leads to Tadapani, passing through a dense forest of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo. The trail is steep in some places, but the stunning mountain views make it worth the effort.
Day 3: Tadapani to Dobato (3426m)
The trail leads to Dobato, passing through a dense forest of rhododendron and oak. The trail is steep in some places, but the stunning mountain views make it worth the effort.
Day 4: Dobato to Chistibung (3000m)
The trail leads to Chistibung, passing through a forest of rhododendron, oak, and juniper. You can see stunning mountain views along the way.
Day 5: Chistibung to Khopra Ridge (3660m)
The trail leads to Khopra Ridge, passing through a forest of rhododendron and juniper. You can see stunning mountain views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Nilgiri, and Hiunchuli.
Day 6: Khopra Ridge to Khayer Lake (4600m) and back to Khopra Ridge
The trail leads to Khayer Lake, which is a sacred lake for Hindus and Buddhists. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and offers stunning views. After visiting the lake, return to Khopra Ridge.
Day 7: Khopra Ridge to Tatopani (1190m)
The trail leads to Tatopani, passing through a dense forest of rhododendron and oak. Tatopani is famous for its natural hot springs, which are a great way to relax after a long trek.
Day 8: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2750m)
The trail leads to Ghorepani, passing through a dense forest of rhododendron and oak. Ghorepani is a beautiful village with stunning mountain views.
Day 9: Ghorepani to Nayapul to Pokhara
Early morning hike to Poon Hill to see a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas. After breakfast, trek back to Nayapul and take a jeep ride back to Pokhara.
