The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course builds on your existing skills, offering new diving experiences and advanced techniques. It requires you to be at least 15 years old and already certified as a PADI Open Water Diver.

The course typically lasts two to three days and includes five dives: two mandatory dives (Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation Dive) and three elective dives (such as Boat Diving, Drift Diving, and Peak Performance Buoyancy). Each dive is paired with a knowledge review from the PADI eLearning Adventures in Diving manual.

These dives help you learn to manage deeper depths, improve navigation, and explore different underwater activities. The course enhances your confidence, increases your maximum diving depth to 30 meters (100 feet), and prepares you for more advanced PADI courses.
