Day 1: Ancestral Roots in Wilcahuain
We begin with a gentle hike to the Wilcahuain Archaeological Center. This hike along rural trails gives you a chance to stretch your legs and begin acclimatizing to the altitude as you explore temples from the Huari culture, surrounded by landscapes reflecting daily life in the Andes.
Day 2: Mirrors of Water and Altitude (Laguna Antacocha)
We begin with a visit to Antacocha Lagoon, a peaceful spot ideal for getting some fresh air.
Day 3: Next, we will head for the iconic Laguna 69. The effort of the ascent is rewarded by its turquoise waters nestled beneath the granite walls of Chacraraju. At the end of the day, we will settle into Refugio Perú (4,765 m / 15,633 ft) for our first night in the high mountains.
Day 4: The Great Challenge: Summit of Nevado Pisco
We will begin our trek in the early morning. We will cross the moraine and the glacier to reach the summit of Nevado Pisco. From the summit, you will enjoy one of the most comprehensive panoramic views of the Andes, including Huascarán, Chopicalqui, and Alpamayo. After celebrating our summit achievement, we will descend to spend another night in the comfort of the lodge.
Day 5: Farewell to the Mountains
After breakfast with a view of the glaciers, we will begin our final descent to Cebollapampa, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz, bringing to a close an unforgettable adventure of peaks and nature.
