What you can expect

  • Escape San Juan and join us for a trip to the beautiful town of Loíza Piñones. Prepare to experience a new aspect of Puerto Rico as we venture beyond the city limits.

    Known as the fried-fritter capital, Piñones is the go-to destination for local vibes, great music, cultural dance, and delicious Afro-Puerto Rican food.

    The tour starts at the house of Roberto Clemente, where we can see photos of Loíza, artifacts left behind by the Taíno, and Afro-Puerto Rican-inspired art.

    To finish, we will take the boardwalk/horse trail to a local bar, where each guest will receive a welcome shot of Puerto Rican rum and sample food. Participants in our tour group also receive special drink offers at participating kiosks.

    Depending on the pace of the group and the day of the tour, we aim to stop at 3–5 locations in Piñones. This includes walking along the boardwalk and beach, so please bring a bathing suit and towel.

    On weekends, Piñones gets very busy, which can limit the number of places visited.
