Day 1: Phnom Penh to Skun Sambor Prei Kuk, and Kampong Khleang fishing village (Overnight) on detour route phnom Penh to Siem Reap Car/Minivan with English Speaking driver
Start your adventure with a drive from Phnom Penh to Skun, taking about 1 hour. Stop at Skun Market, a well-known local market area where you can observe daily market life and try local snacks like deep-fried tarantula, cricket, and fresh fruits.
Next, drive about 3 hours to visit the Sambor Prei Kuk Temple group. Spend about 1.5 hours exploring the ancient Sambor Prei Kuk temple complex, considered one of Cambodia’s most important pre-Angkorian sacred sites, reflecting early Khmer architecture and religious traditions.
Then, drive to Prey Pros with a restaurant, lake view, and rice-paddy field spot, taking about 1 hour. Have lunch at a local restaurant in Prey Pros before continuing your journey.
Drive to Kampong Khleang Homestay, a traditional fishing community on Tonlé Sap Lake, famous for its stilted houses and floating homes . From August to December, reach the village by boat, and from September to January, drive directly to the community area.
Spend the evening exploring the village and learning about the daily life of the local fishing community. From August to December, explore around by boat, and from September to January, walk and explore the community area. Enjoy an overnight stay in Kampong Khleang, including dinner and a night in a stilted house.
Day 2: Kampong Khleang to Beng Mealea, Kulen National Park, and Siem Reap.
Car/Minivan with English Speaking Driver, After breakfast, depart 9:00AM for Beng Mealea, Visit Bengmelea temple a jungle-covered temple with dramatic ruins and a peaceful, atmospheric setting, spend 1:30hours
Next Continue to Kulen National Park, about 1:20hours to top mountain, explore a sacred landscape in Khmer tradition and history. The park is known for important religious landmarks, including the River of a Thousand Lingas and the Reclining Buddha.
Visit River of Thousand Linga, Reclining buddha, Kulen Waterfall and enjoy swimming and relaxing at the natural pool nearby spend about 3 hours. After the tour, drive about 1:30 hours to transfer to your hotel in Siem Reap for drop-off.
