During the workshop, participants take turns actively participating in the recipe, following a clear step-by-step process under the guidance of the instructor. Participation in the preparation is shared among the group. For full, individual participation in all stages, please ask about our private workshop option.
The class focuses on preparing the custard filling and the baking process. The puff pastry is pre-prepared, and you’ll receive a house-made recipe to recreate it at home, as it takes several hours to be ready for use.
The session includes a short and accessible introduction to the history of the Pastel de Nata in Portugal, from its origins in Lisbon to its evolution into one of the country’s most famous pastries.
Each participant will prepare several Pastéis de Nata, which can be enjoyed on site or taken away. A transport box is included for your pastries.
Throughout the workshop, enjoy Port wine, juice, water, coffee, and a selection of sweet and savory snacks in a relaxed and social atmosphere. At the end of the session, you’ll leave with the confidence and the recipe to recreate this Portuguese classic at home.
Lactose-free, gluten-free, and vegan options are available upon request. Advance notice is required to allow proper preparation.
The workshop takes place at Domus Arte, a space fully dedicated to handmade products, workshops and art exhibitions.
