Meeting Point and Time
We will meet at 9:00 AM at the main entrance of the Cinemateca de Bogotá, located at Carrera 3 # 19-10. Our Mycelium Travel team will be waiting for you to start this adventure.
⛰️ The Páramo Adventure
Departure to the Páramo (9:00 AM): From the Cinemateca, we will head by private transportation to the páramo, a very short distance from Bogotá. The journey will offer us spectacular views of the savannah and the mountains.
Connection with Nature and Hike (Approx. 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM): Upon arrival at the páramo, we will begin our moderate hike. During the tour, you will connect with the essence of this unique ecosystem:
Frailejones and Puyas: You'll learn about these iconic plants, the guardians of water, and their fundamental role in the ecosystem.
The Water Cycle: You will witness how the moorland functions as a “natural water factory” and understand its vital importance.
Hidden Waterfall: Our route will take us to a beautiful waterfall, a refreshing and majestic end to our exploration of the páramo. We will have time to enjoy the scenery and take pictures.
Drop-off in Bogotá (Approx. 1:30 PM): After our hike, we will take our transportation back to the city.
️ Traditional Colombian Lunch
Back in Bogotá, we'll end our experience by enjoying a delicious traditional Colombian lunch at a well-selected local restaurant, where you can recharge your batteries and share the memories of the day.
End of Activity
The activity will end after lunch at the same restaurant, which is conveniently located so that you can continue with your plans in Bogota.
What to bring: Comfortable layered clothing (the weather in the páramo can vary), waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, hiking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, reusable water bottle, and snacks.
