Discover some of the most beautiful alpine hiking destinations near Vancouver on a guided full-day adventure. This experience is designed for active travellers who want to escape the city and explore the mountains, lakes, and trails that make British Columbia unforgettable.
Choose from four incredible hiking options: Garibaldi Lake, Joffre Lakes, Wedgemount Lake, or Panorama Ridge. Each offers a different style of mountain adventure, from turquoise glacier-fed lakes and alpine meadows to waterfalls, glaciers, and sweeping mountain viewpoints.
Your day begins with pickup in Vancouver before travelling along scenic mountain roads toward the trailhead. Once on the trail, your guide will lead the group at a steady pace, provide route support, allow time for photos and breaks, and help create an enjoyable mountain experience.
Garibaldi Lake is one of British Columbia’s most iconic alpine lake hikes. A steady forest climb leads to a spectacular glacier-fed lake surrounded by mountains, glaciers, and beautiful alpine scenery.
Joffre Lakes is famous for its brilliant turquoise water and dramatic mountain backdrop. The trail visits Lower, Middle, and Upper Joffre Lakes, with time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and rest along the way.
Wedgemount Lake is a steep and demanding hike near Whistler. The challenging ascent rewards hikers with a striking turquoise alpine lake surrounded by rugged peaks, waterfalls, and glaciers. This option is best suited to experienced hikers with strong fitness.
Panorama Ridge is the longest option and rewards strong hikers with one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Garibaldi Provincial Park. From the ridge, enjoy unforgettable views overlooking Garibaldi Lake, Black Tusk, and the surrounding Coast Mountains.
These are genuine mountain hikes—not short sightseeing walks. Guests should be comfortable hiking uphill for several hours, travelling across uneven terrain, and spending a full day outdoors. Panorama Ridge and Wedgemount Lake are especially demanding and require excellent fitness and previous hiking experience.
Trail conditions can vary depending on the weather and season. The route, pace, timing, and final destination may be adjusted for safety due to weather, trail conditions, park access, group ability, or guide assessment. Round-trip transportation from Vancouver is included.
