Meet new friends on a shared boat tour. Discover the beauty of Balicasag Island and Virgin Island Sandbar on a boat tour from Panglao. Watch dolphins play in the water, snorkel with turtles, and be amazed by colorful marine creatures.
Boat boarding location is at Alona, Sawang, Daorong or Momo beach depending on wind and tide. We contact guests one day prior for final arrangements. Hotel pick-up and return is included free, the coverage is within Panglao Municipality only.
Board the boat with amenities and refreshments and head to the dolphin-watching area at Balicasag Island. Boats signal each other when dolphins are spotted, and dolphin sightings are seasonal.
Watch as the playful dolphins leap into the air alongside the boat. Dolphins are wild animals, and boatman will attempt to find their feeding ground which changes day by day. We cannot guarantee 100% dolphin sightings.
Then, continue to Balicasag Island for a snorkeling adventure. Local islander guides are assigned to all tourists. Use a paddle boat and snorkel gear to explore the coral reef and discover a variety of colorful fish species and marine creatures. Visit the turtle sanctuary and see the majestic turtles float gracefully through the water. The guides in Balicasag Island are local islanders (not our own staff due to government policy). Balicasag Island is very popular and there may be a waiting period for the guides.
Tip: Ask the local islander paddleboat guide to take you to a less crowded area of the sea. Inform the guide of your swimming level: non-swimmer, beginner, expert, or freediver.
Virgin Island Sandbar has been reopened after rehabilitation (October 2024 to January 2026). It is a white sand sandbar in a crescent shape. The surrounding sea is shallow with much seagrass, sea urchins, starfish, camouflaged fish. It is difficult to navigate during low tide, and the boat crew may opt to visit first, before Balicasag Island, depending on the tides. This is a self-guided visit to the sandbar to relax and enjoy the picturesque scenery. Please bring a hat! There is no tree cover on the sandbar
Boat crew will cook lunch while you swim. Lunch is served around 11am. It is grilled pork, grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, and rice. There is some free time to swim around the boat during lunch time.
