This sightseeing tour begins in Panama City and heads to the Chagres National Park, a 1-hour 15-minute drive away. Once we reach the harbor, we'll board a canoe built by the natives and sail along the Chagres River, the main tributary of the Panama Canal, to a waterfall in the midst of the rainforest, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy its crystal-clear waters. (The hike to the waterfall can take 20 to 30 minutes along a trail.) Afterwards, we'll return to the village, where the Embera people will share their history and talk about their culture, how they migrated from the Darién jungle, and their contributions to research. Later, you'll be served a traditional lunch with tilapia caught that morning in Lake Alajuela, bananas, and other seasonal tropical fruits. You'll also take part in traditional dances, tour the village, and have the chance to buy their handmade crafts. You'll have the chance to take photos with them and see firsthand how they live and prepare their food. After this great experience, we will return to the hotel or to the agreed-upon location.
