What you can expect

  • Wake up above the Caribbean in a private overwater cabin on Yani Island. This two-day San Blas escape combines an overnight stay, island meals, beach time and a shared boat excursion to Isla Misdup and the Natural Pool.

Your San Blas overwater bungalow is a simple wooden cabin on stilts, with shared bathrooms on the island. Enjoy the distinctive setting and easy access to the beach while experiencing the relaxed pace of island life.

DAY 1: ARRIVE ON YANI ISLAND

Meet us at the designated Cartí port, or select optional round-trip road transportation when booking. With the Panama City transportation add-on, shared pickup takes place approximately between 5:00 and 5:45 AM, followed by a 2.5–3-hour journey through the Guna Yala highlands.

At the port, join a shared boat transfer to Isla Yansailadup, also known as Yani Island. The crossing takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on sea conditions. Departure follows the arrival and registration of the shared group.

Settle into your private overwater cabin when it is ready, then spend the day swimming, strolling along the beach or relaxing beneath the coconut palms. SUP boards are available to rent at an additional cost.

Enjoy your included lunch and dinner. Meals typically feature fish or chicken with plantains and salad, depending on available ingredients. Vegetarian meals can be requested, although there is no dedicated vegetarian menu. Drinks cost extra.

Spend the evening on the island before retiring to your cabin above the water.

DAY 2: ISLA MISDUP & THE NATURAL POOL

Start with breakfast, which may include fresh fruit and hojaldre, a traditional fried bread. Check out of your cabin by 8:00 AM, then enjoy more time on Yani Island before lunch.

After lunch, board the included shared boat excursion to Isla Misdup. Explore its white-sand beach and enjoy the shallow turquoise water before continuing to the Natural Pool, an offshore sandbank where you can stand in the sea when conditions allow.

Masks and snorkels are provided during the boat excursion. Stops and activities may change with weather and sea conditions.

Return to the mainland port in the afternoon. Guests who selected the road transportation add-on continue back to their lodging, with arrival in Panama City around 7:00 PM.

    YOUR ISLAND STAY

Cabins and island services are rustic, with shared bathrooms and limited electricity. This is an independent island stay with local hosts rather than a continuously guided tour; not all hosts speak English.

Bring your original passport, cash, a towel and toiletries. Drinks, SUP rentals and the Guna Yala entrance fee are extra. Road transportation is included only when selected and purchased.
