Are you planning your spring escape to Oulu?
Join us on a unique 5-hour guided day trip to Liminka Nature Reserve, one of the most important and impressive bird wetlands in Finland and Europe.
Liminka Bay is a true birdwatcher’s paradise. Every spring and autumn, thousands of migratory birds stop here to rest and feed during their long journeys. The open coastal meadows, maintained by grazing cattle in summer, create ideal living conditions for many rare and endangered bird and plant species.
Each year, around 200 bird species are observed in the protected area, and approximately 160 species nest here. The bird season begins in April with spring migration, while the last autumn migrants can be seen as late as November.
During the tour, we will:
- Visit the Liminka Bay Visitor Centre, located right next to the prime birdwatching spots.
- Explore interesting exhibitions about birds and the nature of the Oulu region,
- visit birds observation tower and observe birds and enjoy the beautiful Bothnia Bay landscapes,
- Enjoy a cozy campfire break with small snacks.
This relaxing and educational trip is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and beginners alike. For those interested, the guide also offers basic bird and nature photography tips during the tour.
Come and experience the magic of spring migration at Liminka Bay — where nature truly comes alive.
