In my brandnew workshop in the heart of Naxos Town, I host small, cozy groups for a tasting and baking experience that feels warm, relaxed, and genuinely local. We begin with a friendly introduction to extra virgin olive oil. What makes an oil truly “extra virgin”? How do you recognise real aromas and flavors? Can we cook with it? Together we explore these questions while tasting different Naxian oils, learning easy techniques, and discovering how locals pair olive oil with herbs and food. Then we dive into baking. We prepare a traditional bread using a family recipe that has passed from my great-grandmother to my grandmother to me. It’s simple and full of the smells and memories I grew up with.
