Feel the power of Portuguese engineering and the wind on your face as we traverse the Barrocal trails in a classic UMM 4x4 jeep. This isn't just a trip; it's a cultural and sensory immersion.
Departing from the Cubist town of Olhão, we'll ascend to the highest point in the region, Cerro de São Miguel, where you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Ria Formosa in a truly unforgettable 360° setting, accompanied by a toast with regional liqueurs and a selection of typical delicacies from our Barrocal.
We'll continue through the red soils of Moncarapacho to Viveiros Monterosa, where we'll have a guided tasting of different premium olive oils (except on weekends and holidays, when it is closed), learning about the process and the richness of what is known as “liquid gold” up close.
The adventure continues to Pego do Inferno, a magnificent waterfall steeped in legend and surrounded by lush nature, where you'll have the chance to take a dip and cool off, if you wish and conditions permit.
We then explore the historic center of Tavira, one of the most charming towns in the Algarve, where we visit Tavira Castle, stroll across its iconic Roman bridges, discover historic churches, and immerse ourselves in the cultural richness of this ancient town.
We'll then follow the salt flats route, a unique setting where we'll try to spot flamingos and other migratory birds — an experience that is always special, although it depends on natural conditions and the time of year.
Finally, we'll pass through the picturesque fishing village of Santa Luzia, known as the octopus capital, where you can soak up its traditional atmosphere and get some local recommendations before heading back.
With passionate bilingual guides and a personalized pace, we guarantee an experience rich in stories, landscapes and traditions that reveal the true essence of the Algarve — far from conventional itineraries.
