Get ready for a full-day mountain biking experience in the highlands of Sierra Norte (10,500 ft above sea level).
After a scenic 1.5-hour transfer into the Sierra Norte mountains, you’ll fuel up with a hearty local breakfast at Cuajimiloyas village with overlooking endless pine forests and rugged ridgelines — the perfect warm-up before the ride begins.
Then we roll.
Pedal along dirt roads and forest tracks weaving through towering agaves as we make our way toward the mountain village of Benito Juárez. Feeling strong? Take on the optional climb to the highest suspension bridge in Oaxaca, where sweeping views of the Valles Centrales reward your effort. It’s a true highlight and a perfect photo moment.
From there, gravity takes over.
Choose your descent:
- Ride intermediate dirt track with natural features and flowing sections, or
- Shuttle down by van to regroup in the village plaza.
We continue along a scenic mountain route toward Teotitlán del Valle, renowned for its ancestral weaving traditions. Here, a local family welcomes us for an interactive demonstration of natural dye techniques and traditional rug-making — an authentic cultural experience rarely included in MTB tours.
To finish the day, visit a traditional mezcal distillery to learn about the artisanal production process and enjoy a guided tasting of Oaxaca’s iconic spirit before returning to the city.
High altitude riding. Epic views. Cultural immersion. Premium local experiences.
This isn’t just a bike ride — it’s a complete Sierra Norte adventure designed for intermediate to advanced riders looking for challenge, scenery, and authenticity in one unforgettable day.
