What you can expect

  • Meet your guide in Nordfjordeid and travel together to the trailhead of Bjørneskarnakken. From here, begin the hike along an access road before continuing onto a clear but unmarked mountain trail.
    The route is approximately 5.2 km in total with around 300 metres of elevation gain. As you climb, the landscape opens up to increasingly wide views across Nordfjord, the surrounding mountains and valleys.
    Reach the summit at 607 metres above sea level and take time to enjoy the panoramic scenery. The summit is an excellent viewpoint for photos and gives you a broad perspective over the Nordfjord landscape.
    The hike is considered easy to moderate and is suitable for guests with normal hiking fitness. After enjoying the summit, follow the same route back to the trailhead before returning to Nordfjordeid by transport.
    The experience normally takes around 3 hours including transport, depending on the group and conditions.
