Our studio sits in the heart of Sakae, right in central Nagoya, making it easy to drop by while exploring the city. You can join a gentle and enjoyable calligraphy session offered from 10:00–12:00 or 15:00–17:00, whichever fits your schedule.
You’ll be guided by a calligraphy master in a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Even if it’s your first time holding a brush, you can relax and learn at your own pace. While practicing, you can enjoy Japanese tea and traditional sweets, creating a peaceful moment to rest and experience Japanese culture during your travels.
The class is divided into two sessions. In the first session, you’ll practice writing large characters, just like Japanese students do when learning calligraphy at school. In the second session, you’ll try writing smaller characters, inspired by the traditional way of writing used in everyday life in the past.
At the end of the class, you’ll place your small calligraphy work in a frame to take home. It makes a special Japanese souvenir, created by you and filled with memories of your time in Japan.
It’s a wonderful experience for travellers, beginners, families, or anyone who wants to explore Japanese culture through the art of calligraphy.
