Among the must-do activities for discovering Lapland, we offer you a unique experience inspired by Sami tradition: a cooking workshop where everyone learns how to start a fire in the Arctic and prepare smoked salmon over a wood fire according to an age-old recipe. More than just a meal, over the course of 2 full hours, it is a true cultural and sensory experience, a rare opportunity to experience authentic Lapland.

Just a stone's throw from the legendary Route 92, on the way to North Cape (Nordkapp), our experience takes you far beyond tourist clichés. Here, there are no crowds or buses, but rather an intimate atmosphere in the heart of Muotkatunturi Nature Park, among “Tunturi” hills, snow-covered forests and frozen rivers. In this unspoiled setting, you will discover a wild and silent Lapland, where fire, wood and nature are your traveling companions.

In our Lapland home, we welcome you for a timeless workshop. Guided by our passionate guide, you will learn to master the simple but essential steps for lighting a fire in the polar cold. Together, gathered around the flames, you will prepare smoked salmon according to a traditional Lapland recipe.

Each participant gets their hands dirty. Regardless of your experience, the activity is designed to be accessible and enjoyable. Here, we take our time: everyone participates, shares and savors the magic of the moment. While the salmon smokes gently, you can let yourself be enveloped by the muted sounds of nature: the crackling of the wood, the whisper of the wind, the flow of the river… and sometimes, the unexpected visit of a solitary reindeer.

Once the salmon is ready, it's time to share! You will enjoy this traditional dish together around a large table in our traditional log cabin. The atmosphere is warm and authentic: a wood-burning stove, furs, soft lighting… a true Nordic haven that invites you to relax. Here, luxury lies not in the superfluous, but in simplicity and human warmth.

And if nature smiles on you, the sky will light up: the Northern Lights will dance above you, creating a magical show. Depending on the season, you may also be able to enjoy the midnight sun or the vibrant colors of the autumn Ruska.
