Muangboran is an outdoor museum covering a whopping 96 hectares, or 240 acres. The creator has painstakingly built scaled models or replicas of ancient city ruins and historical monuments from all over Thailand. The periods of these ancient ruins and monuments cover the Dvaravati, Srivichai, Lopburi, Lanna, Lan Chang, Sukhothai, U-tong, Ayuthaya, Thonburi and Rattanakosin eras.

The accuracy and attention to detail shows how much effort has been put into reconstructing these structures. In many cases the originals were completely, or mostly, destroyed so reconstruction largely depended on historical records and research.

There are over 100 scaled models or replicas of ancient ruins, buildings, monuments and more covering at this amazing site. Muangboran is a cross section of Ancient Siam all in one location that can be covered in a day! You can go from magnificent Dusit Maha Prasat Palace in the Grand Palace, Bangkok to the ruins of the Main Chedi of Wat Maha That to the Ayutthaya's 17th century Sanphet Prasat Palace to ruins and palaces from the Hariphunchai Kingdom about 1000 years before it became Northern Thailand and so much more.
