Bellapais Village is the most famous of all villages that we will visit. The village is developed around the 13th century Bellapais Monastery. Both the monastery and the picturesque Bellapais village set in the foothills of the Kyrenia Mountains. As a former home of British writer Lawrence Durrell, the village and the monastery became famous with his book ''Bitter lemons of Cyprus''.

The streets are full with bougainvilleas and laidback stray cats that are fed by the village community.
