Begin your adventure with a late-night pickup from your hotel. Travel to the basecamp in Mangli Village, where you’ll meet your local mountain guide for a short briefing and enjoy a warm drink to prepare for the climb.

Start your ascent shortly after midnight, using headlamps to guide your steps through the quiet forest. Walk steadily for several hours, climbing gradually in the cool mountain air. Hiking at night helps you avoid the heat of the sun and gives you the best chance to experience a dramatic sunrise. Your guide will keep a safe, comfortable pace and make regular stops for rest.

As you approach the upper slopes, the trail becomes more open and challenging, with rocky paths leading toward the summit. Reach the peak of Mount Sumbing (3,371 m) just before dawn. Watch the sky slowly change colors as the sun rises above rolling clouds, revealing an incredible panorama of Central Java’s mountains, including Mount Sindoro standing nearby.

Spend time at the summit taking photos, enjoying the fresh air, and celebrating your achievement. After sunrise, begin your descent and enjoy the lush scenery that was hidden in the darkness. Once back at the basecamp, take a rest before your private car transfers you comfortably back to your hotel.
