Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain and an active volcano, is one of the country's most iconic symbols. It is renowned for its symmetrical, snow-capped peak. Sacred in Japanese Shintoism, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013 in recognition of its role as a source of artistic inspiration. While in Hakone, you can visit the Torii next to Lake Ashi and Owakudani, an active volcanic valley with hot springs and active sulphur vents.
