Your adventure begins in the early hours of the morning with a convenient hotel pickup, usually around 1:00–2:00 AM and meet at basecemp on 3.00 AM, depending on your location in Bali. You’ll be driven in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to the base of Mount Batur, where your friendly local trekking guide will greet you and provide a short safety briefing, flashlight, and bottled water. The trek starts in darkness, lit only by stars and headlamps, creating a peaceful and surreal atmosphere. Over the course of 1.5 to 2 hours, you’ll hike steadily uphill through volcanic terrain. No prior hiking experience is required, but basic fitness is recommended. Once you reach the summit (1,717 meters above sea level), you’ll witness a breathtaking sunrise, with views stretching across Lake Batur, Mount Agung, and even Lombok island on a clear day. While enjoying the view, your guide will prepare a simple breakfast, often featuring eggs cooked using volcanic steam!
